It's a....

BOY!

We had our 2nd trimester sonogram today, and we are so thankful that baby looked great! We were so amazed at how detailed it was - counting 10 fingers and 10 toes, seeing the heart chambers, measuring the spine and brain and everything! It was so fun seeing baby move and squirm around - just like a real infant :) We were also very overjoyed when they announced that we are having a boy! Yay! We're imagining very fun playtimes with baby and his cousin Ethan :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Weird, we've started to think of things as 'last [blank] before baby'. So today was our last Valentine's Day before baby comes. And I must say, Tim outdid himself this year. First, he surprised me with an early present. I came home Friday night to this lovely package
And when I opened it, this was inside!I was truly shocked that he remembered this purse that I've had my eye on. If you know me, you know that I love to shop, but I am also somewhat on the cheap side. I just can't bring myself to buy a purse that costs more than $30 - I'd rather find a cheaper version at TJ Maxx. So that was super sweet of Tim to get it for me! He also informed me that this was a combo valentine's and 'push' gift. For those of you who don't know, a push gift is a gift that the husband gives his pregnant wife after delivery. Yes, it was probably made up by a woman, but hey we do the work, and we deserve something. :)

Tim also made dinner reservations a few weeks in advance and kept the location a surprise. I was definitely impressed when we got out of the car at Arcodoro Pomodoro, one of the best Italian restaurants in town. It was awesome! Cute and quaint inside, with delicious food. We are foodie-wannabes, so we like to try out new and cool sounding foods that we normally only see on Top Chef. I had duck a l'orange and Tim had beef filletta wrapped in panchetta. Yum! We were very happy when we finished the meal.Thank you for indulging me and allowing me to brag a little bit. I feel very lucky to be married to a great husband, and know that he will make an even better dad!

16 Weeks

Another bump picture...I think this is a real bump now cause there's no way I've eaten THAT many sausage egg mcmuffins (my favorite food at the moment).

We have our 2nd trimester sonogram in a few weeks, which may be able to tell if baby is a boy or a girl. We're still deciding if we will find out - I want to know, Tim doesn't. We'll see who wins...
